A friendly cartoon dragon sitting with little wings and a curly tail — the collection's dragon page, with scales and detail for older colourers.
This dragon is friendly rather than fearsome, but it earns its Detailed label with plenty to colour: a scaled body, little folded wings, a row of back spikes, and a curling tail. It is aimed at ages seven and up, or any younger child who loves to take their time. The scales and wing membranes are wonderful areas to experiment with greens, purples, or bold reds, and the wings can be a completely different colour for contrast. Because there is so much going on, colored pencils work better here than chunky crayons, giving cleaner edges on the smaller shapes. Despite the detail, the outlines stay bold and closed so nothing gets muddy. Download it free as a print-ready PDF and a PNG, no sign-up ever.
Coloring idea: Green scales with contrasting wings, and a few darker scales for depth, look brilliant.
