Garden Butterfly Coloring Page

A pretty butterfly resting on a big open flower — symmetrical wings and simple shapes that make it an easy, joyful page for little ones.

About This Coloring Page

A butterfly is one of the most satisfying easy subjects because its wings are large, symmetrical, and begging to be coloured. This one rests on a single big flower, giving a young child two clear things to fill: the wings and the bloom. The symmetry is a gentle introduction to matching colours on each side, though there is no wrong way to do it — bright, mismatched wings look wonderful too. With big open areas and thick outlines, it is well suited to ages three to six, and it comes together quickly for a happy, colourful result. It is a lovely spring and summer page. As always, the download is completely free, includes both a print-ready PDF and a PNG, and requires no sign-up.

Coloring idea: Mirror the same colours on both wings, or go bold and make each one different.
